Kayla earned her degree in biology from Trine University before pursuing a second degree in nursing at IUPUI. After completing her nursing education, she went on to become a Registered Nurse, combining her strong science background with clinical training to support high-quality patient care.

Prior to joining Apex, Kayla worked at Hancock Regional Hospital, where she gained valuable experience as both a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU) nurse and a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse. In these roles, she was deeply committed to delivering high-quality patient care, prioritizing patient safety, and supporting positive outcomes through careful monitoring, clinical expertise, and compassionate practice.

Kayla holds a degree in Biology from Trine University and nursing degree from IUPUI. She previously worked at Hancock Regional Hospital as a Registered Nurse in both the CICU and PACU. Kayla and her husband, Logan Whitesell, have two energetic young children/ Outside of work, she enjoys family time and reading (mostly “nonsense books” whenever she can find a quiet moment). A fun fact, Kayla lived in Hawaii for a time.
